Road Trips

Road trips are a breeze, offering one of the most convenient ways to hit the road. Simply load up your car, map out your route, and you're off. Whether you opt to camp at various sites, book hotels or B&Bs, or even snooze in your car at safe spots, all you need is a loose plan and the freedom to make arrangements as you traverse the country.

You can visit some of the more historical places around the UK and destinations associated with important times in history; you can visit the best beaches in the UK in order, visit birthplaces of different people of importance or cultural significance, areas of outstanding natural beauty, National Trust locations, or absolutely anything; it's entirely up to you.

There's a reason why road trips have stood the test of time. It's because it really gives a sense of spontaneity and freedom that you can't get when you're travelling on someone else's itinerary. There have been many tales of people getting on their motorcycle and just riding, and this is something that may appeal to you. If so, make sure that you are comfortable with your motorcycle but also make sure you get the right insurance for your motorcycle so that you are truly covered for the highways and byways of the land.

Campervan Travel

Campervan travel is a step-up from car road trips. You are still driving, but you have your accomodation with you, meaning you can park up in many different places and sleep in comfort where it's legal to do so. From roadsides to booking camping pitches that allow camper vans, you can drive in comfort. Whether you choose to hire a camper van or RV or you use services such as vw crafter conversions to kit out a van you own, organise your transport and get driving!

Canal Boat

If the roads aren't your thing and you want a more leisurely way of seeing the country, then why not get yourself a canal boat and navigate the many waterways of the UK? You can get to so many beautiful locations across the UK via canals, and the network is pretty extensive. You simply need to learn how to move through the water safely, use locks correctly and off you go. It's not for everyone, but for those wanting a more relaxed pace of life or to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this could be the perfect option.

Cruise

You don't need to go to far-flung destinations for a cruise. You can cruise around the UK coastline on cruise lines such as Fred Olsen and Cunard. Routes can often vary, and you visit locations such as Belfast, Southampton, the Orkney Islands, Liverpool, the Hebrides Isle of Wight and many more.
