How To Deal With Mice In Walls

12 February 2023 by mylifeyourway Leave a Comment

Homeowners fear mice more than any other animals in the home.

Why are mice such a big deal, especially if they are not dangerous to humans? The main reason is that mice seriously threaten your home, personal belongings, and family's health.

Also, mice in house walls can damage your home - you will likely want to use a site like Pest Control Experts to call in pest control services in your local area.

Below, you will learn everything you need about mice in walls and if you have mice and what you can do to stop their destruction.

Identifying Signs of a Mouse Infestation

Common signs include hearing scurrying in the walls, visible mouse nests, and droppings. You may have a mouse infestation if you notice these signs and a foul smell coming from the wall.

The first step is to inspect the house's exterior, including any potential entry points, and seal any cracks and mice holes in the wall it can access. After that, it is essential to eliminate any current mice with traps or poison and clean up any droppings and nests left behind.

Further preventative measures include ensuring common entrances are sealed and keeping areas clean and free of food debris. The best course of action is to find a pest control company. A pest control company can help you assess the severity of the situation and develop a plan of action to remove the mice.

Keeping Your Home Mouse-Proof

Make sure to seal entry points the mice can use to get in, including small holes or cracks in the foundation, utility pipes, and vents. Keep food in sealed, rodent-proof containers and clean up food leftovers, especially beneath kitchen cabinets or appliances.

Remove clutter since mice can use it to hide. Have a professional inspect and seal any holes or gaps near the ground level larger than ¼". Ensure all screens, vents, and other openings leading to the outdoors are in good condition and sealed correctly.

Additionally, use a combination of traps and Mouse-Proofing products. Such as ultrasonic nuisance control devices to get rid of mice in walls.

Using Humane Or Non-Lethal Removal Strategies

The first step is to locate the entry points where the mice are getting in and seal them up, preventing further entry. It can involve replacing and sealing old weather stripping on windows and doors, installing door sweeps, and caulking any cracks or crevices around your home's exterior.

Inside your residence, store any food in airtight containers, and clean any areas where food might be left behind. Traps are a nonlethal choice for catching mice and should be set up in places where mouse activity is seen. Live traps are preferable, as they allow the mouse to be re-released away from your home.

Eliminate the Mice in Walls

Getting rid of mice in walls can be difficult, but it is possible with the right approach and effort. By sealing off the entry points, baiting traps, and making the home less attractive to potential rodents, you can tackle the problem effectively.

Don't let mice ruin your home. Please take action now and eradicate them today!
