10 June 2022 by mylifeyourway Leave a Comment

Are you looking for ways you can contribute to the income of your family? Unless you get a job, you may not feel you are competent to do anything that can make you money as an at-home mom. There are likely a number of skills you have - or can learn - that would allow you to earn money at home without having to leave your house or finding childcare for your kids. Here are 7 ideas to make money as a work at home Mom.

Selling Unused Items

It may be the fastest way for moms to make money to declutter their homes and sell things they no longer need. You can find buyers in your town who may want what you don't through Facebook Marketplace. When nobody in your neighborhood wants your old items, you can always list them on eBay to get more exposure.

Buying, reselling, and repackaging items can actually become a full-time job for working moms! After a bit of research, you may discover ways to obtain inventory that you can then resell at a profit.

Find out if there are wholesale liquidation centers in your area. They may have items that you would find at Walmart or on Amazon for a fraction of the price. Liquidation centers are often selling perfectly good products at a huge discount by the pallet. The products can then be resold through Facebook Marketplace or eBay.

The concept of arbitrage is also closely related, in which you sell items on behalf of others and earn a commission from the sale. Some people have things they would like to sell, but may not be able to sell them because of time or knowledge constraints. A friend of yours may have a large collection of baseball cards. You might be able to sell this collection online or locally through Facebook. It's beneficial for you because you get 20% of the sale. Then you'll have made $1000 for your efforts if you manage to sell all the cards for $5,000.

It takes only a few words to spread a message. You will definitely tell your friends who also have baseball cards collecting dust in their basements when you move your friend's collection.

Babysitting

Babysitting can be an easy money maker for you if you already care for small children each day. You could begin by baby-sitting family members of friends. You may find additional children to watch by advertising your services on local Facebook groups, as well.

You can charge from $50 to $100 per child per week, depending on their age. The cost of raising a baby is higher because they have diapers to change and food to feed while older children are more independent. In addition to this, it can also bring your community together and make some life-long friends for your kids.

Virtual Assistant

Working from home as a stay at home mom is even easier with reliable internet service and a computer. Although you may not have specialized skills, you can still learn how to become a virtual assistant (VA). Bloggers or online business owners who need to outsource certain tasks can hire this service to do the busy work for them.

Many online businesses hire virtual assistants to handle a variety of tasks, such as checking emails, writing content, updating product pages, taking photos, cooking recipes, and more. The tasks aren't particularly challenging, and if you already check your personal email and post on Facebook regularly, you probably have what it takes to be a VA. Each client will have specific requirements, so most of them will train you to ensure you do things the way they want.

Blogging

Work at home moms can make more money by starting a blog over the long term. You can greatly benefit from investing your time in a blog while you do other money making activities. Many blogs generate thousands of dollars each month from advertising and affiliate links (links that earn a commission when a visitor clicks the link and makes a purchase). Depending on your niche and how dedicated you are, it may take 6-18 months or longer, but it is definitely worth it later down the road.

Photography

Photography is definitely a skill moms can learn to make money, even if they don't have a natural talent for it. It is possible to create stock photos to sell online, which bloggers and website owners can then purchase licenses for. Every time a stock photo is licensed, you earn a commission. It would also be possible to expand this to a local photography business that takes family portraits or photographs events like weddings and parties. You can run with this idea if it is something you're interested in.

Selling on Etsy

There is always something to sell on Etsy for work at home moms, regardless of the product. If you are creative, you can make new items and sell them on Etsy at a premium. It doesn't work for used items in your home (unless they are vintage).

It is a great thing about this platform that people expect to be able to pay more for unique and handmade items. A lucrative home business can be had on Etsy if you are talented in crafting. Regardless of whether you enjoy crafting, you can sell printables online and make money without having to maintain physical inventory! Printable digital products can be a great way to earn a passive income online without huge startup costs.

Teaching a Course

Online teaching has become very popular among teachers who have become work at home moms. With this method, you can earn money even if you haven't been a teacher in the past. There are platforms online that let you create written or video courses on topics such as baking, photography, exercising, and organizing the house. If you have a successful course, you will earn a commission.

There will be many people who will gladly pay to take your course instead of scouring the internet for free information on a topic. Depending on the subject matter being taught, many courses sell for $97 or more. Occasionally, a $497 course with 100+ students enrolled may be available on some topics. Imagine the profits you could earn from teaching something that you are passionate about.

Earning money while working from home can be done in a number of ways. These seven examples barely scratch the surface. Consider creative ways to earn money, as creativity can lead to the most unusual ways of earning money. Additionally, you can earn thousands of dollars each month doing something that only a few people are doing instead of earning just a few dollars doing what everyone else is!
